Have you ever been in a situation where you say to yourself—“What?” “No…did I hear that right?” If you have, what did you do? I have…and I like to think I usually call the person on what they said, or ask to understand their perspective. However, if I am honest with myself, I sometimes just sit quietly and say nothing. Not sure why I don’t speak up. I need to work on that. I have started to work on that, I have read articles on healthy conversations and difficult conversations. What did I learn from those articles? Plan for the conversation—I realize I can’t always do that…but heck, my mind is always going so I can plan it out in my head. Check yourself…did you really hear what you thought you did…or did you just feel it. Do you have other suggestions that might help me?
